Hawaii

Hawaii, otherwise known as the Big Island, is regarded as one of the best fishing destinations in the world.

There is a particular part in Hawaii where catching fish is almost always guaranteed, and this is none other than the Kona Coast. The natural features of the place are the main reasons why it is a perfect place for fishing. The sea in this area is calm most of the time, making fishing possible almost every day throughout the year. This might be because it is shielded by huge mountainous volcanoes which block strong winds. Another reason is that the vertical slopes of the huge land mass of Hawaii extends to the sea, making its shoreline deeper. Therefore, most of the fishing boats that travel along the island do not need to go long distances, because the shoreline provides enough depth for the various boats to dock within its coast line. That eventually helps many fishermen to have a productive catch.

There are wide varieties of fish that can be found along the sea of Kona Coast, Hawaii, and these includes Grander’s Marlin, Striped Marlin, Swordfish, and Spearfish, as well as various species of tuna, such as Yellowfin Tuna, Bigeye, Albacore, and Skipjack. Minor species also roam along its clear sea, such as 'Mahi Mahi' or Dorado, Wahoo, and Amberjack.

The calmness of the sea with a great assortment of fish and fine tropical weather induces many anglers and tourists to visit for their fishing activities.
