Mississippi Fishing: Ocean Springs
Ocean Springs, Mississippi, is located at the centre of the attractive Mississippi Gulf Coast on the east of Biloxi Bay. It is called The City of Discovery after the French colonisers established the city in 1699. Before the French invasion, the area was treasured by the Native Americans for its beauty and natural resources. The qualities that brought the early inhabitants into the city have also pulled in a diverse stream of individuals throughout the past 300 years. Ocean Springs has been recommended by many tourist authorities, even during its famous history; and now in the 21st century, it has an even more exceptional character that makes every visitor happy to call it home.
Like the entire Mississippi Coast, Ocean Springs was seriously affected by the huge surge and strong winds of Hurricane Katrina. However, Ocean Springs recovered and now offers improved and fabulous fishing spots. Fishing charters are available and tourists can catch different kinds of fish, such as shark, grouper, cobia, snapper, redfish and others. Just like Biloxi, there is an approach to the deep water and the lighter water around the barrier islands near Ocean Springs, although it is found on the bay; this gives tourists some choices as to where to fish when the offshore waters are too bad.
Visit the historical and growing commercial districts for exceptional shopping experiences. Enjoy its facilities and services that are in use and spend the time in one of their many parks and green spaces. To top it all, they are continuing to aid those who were most affected by the hurricane.
